Early in 2025 work will commence on an upgrade to the East Side of Low Street which will be funded through NYC Town Centres Revitalisation Programme and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The aim of the scheme is specifically to improve the landscaping and parking areas between The Swan Public House and Starkeys Butchers along the east side of Low Street.

The proposal includes brand-new paving and parking surfacing, realigning some car parking spaces to provide clearer access, real time bus information at the bus stops, benches, a new town centre map which will be displayed in new notice boards.
